What is Shopline AI Image Editor?
Shopline AI Image Editor is an AI-powered application that helps merchants edit product images using natural language prompts. Simply describe what changes you want, and our AI (powered by Google Gemini) will transform your images automatically.
How do I install the app?
- Go to the SHOPLINE App Store
- Search for "AI Image Editor"
- Click "Install" and authorize the required permissions
- The app will appear in your SHOPLINE admin dashboard
What permissions does the app need?
The app requires the following permissions:
- Read Products: To access your product catalog and images
- Write Products: To update product images after editing
- Read Files: To access your media library
- Write Files: To save edited images to your media library
Using the App
How do I edit an image?
- Open the AI Image Editor from your SHOPLINE admin
- Select the product(s) you want to edit
- Enter a description of the changes you want (e.g., "Remove the background and make it white")
- Adjust the edit strength (0.0-1.0) and quality settings if needed
- Click "Generate" and wait for the AI to process your images
How many images can I edit at once?
You can edit up to 10 images per request. For bulk editing, you can process multiple batches.
What kind of edits can the AI perform?
The AI can perform various edits including:
- Background removal or replacement
- Color adjustments and corrections
- Object removal or addition
- Style transfers
- Image enhancement and cleanup
- Adding text or watermarks
What does the "Edit Strength" setting do?
The edit strength slider (0.0 to 1.0) controls how dramatically the AI transforms your image:
- 0.3: Minor adjustments only
- 0.5: Balanced modifications with reasonable transformation
- 0.7: Noticeable changes while preserving core elements (default)
- 0.8: Substantial transformations as needed
- 1.0: Complete transformation allowed - most radical changes
How long does it take to process images?
Processing time depends on:
- Number of images (1-10)
- Complexity of the edit
- Image size
Typically, a single image takes 10-30 seconds. Batch processing of 10 images may take 1-3 minutes.
Why did my edit fail?
Common reasons for failed edits:
- Image URL inaccessible: The image URL may be invalid, broken, or not publicly accessible
- Complex prompt: Try simplifying your editing instructions
- Network issues: Check your internet connection and try again

How do I upgrade my plan?
- Go to the AI Image Editor app in your SHOPLINE admin
- Click on "Subscription" or "Plans"
- Select the Pro plan
- Complete the payment through SHOPLINE
What happens when I reach my monthly limit?
When you reach your monthly edit limit:
- You'll receive a message in the app indicating your limit is reached
- You can purchase additional edit packs (Add 100 Usage)
- Or upgrade to the Pro plan if you're on Free
- Your monthly limit resets at the beginning of each billing cycle
Can I purchase additional edits?
Yes! You can purchase the "Add 100 Usage" pack:
- Price: $9.99 (one-time purchase)
- Adds: 100 additional image edits
- Validity: Check purchase terms for expiration period
- Works alongside your subscription plan
When your subscription limit is reached, the app automatically uses your consumable balance.
How do I cancel my subscription?
- Go to your SHOPLINE admin
- Navigate to Apps > Installed Apps
- Find AI Image Editor and click "Manage"
- Select "Cancel Subscription"
Note: You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.
Image Quality & Results
How can I get better results?
Tips for optimal results:
- Be specific: Instead of "make it better," say "increase brightness and sharpen the edges"
- Use high-quality source images: Better input = better output
- Start with lower edit strength: You can always increase if needed
- Describe the desired outcome: "Professional product photo on white background"
What image formats are supported?

Can I undo an edit?
The original image is always preserved. If you're not satisfied with an edit:
- Simply don't save the edited version
- Re-edit using different prompts or settings
- Your original product images remain unchanged until you explicitly update them
Why does my edited image look different than expected?
AI image editing interprets your prompts creatively. To improve results:
- Be more specific in your descriptions
- Adjust the "edit strength" slider (lower = subtle changes)
- Try rephrasing your prompt
- Break complex edits into multiple steps
Technical Issues
The app won't load. What should I do?
Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Refresh the page
- Clear your browser cache
- Try a different browser (Chrome recommended)
- Check if SHOPLINE is experiencing any outages
- Uninstall and reinstall the app
My edited images aren't appearing in the media library
This could be due to:
- Processing still in progress (wait a few minutes)
- Network timeout (try again)
- Media library sync delay (refresh the page)
If the issue persists, contact support.
I'm getting "Installation required" errors
If you see this error:
- The app needs to complete the OAuth installation process
- Go to SHOPLINE App Store and reinstall the app
- Complete the authorization flow
I'm getting "Session expired" errors
If you see authentication errors:
- Refresh the page
- Log out and log back into SHOPLINE
- If the problem continues, uninstall and reinstall the app

What data does the app collect?
We collect:
- Store and merchant identifiers (for authentication)
- Product images (for processing)
- Edit history and prompts (for your reference)
- Usage metrics (for subscription management)

Are my images stored permanently?
- Original images remain in your SHOPLINE account
- Edited images are uploaded to your SHOPLINE Media Library
- We retain edit history during your subscription

Is my data secure?
Yes. We implement:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure OAuth 2.0 authentication
- Data isolation per merchant
- Webhook signature verification (HMAC-SHA256)
Who has access to my images?
- Vicino, Inc.: For app functionality only
- Google Generative AI (Gemini): For AI processing - images are not stored or used for training
- SHOPLINE: As your platform provider
We never sell or share your data for advertising purposes.
What happens to my data if I uninstall the app?
When you uninstall:
- OAuth credentials are immediately deleted
- Webhook subscriptions are removed
- Token cache is cleared
Data preserved for reinstall continuity:
- Subscription records
- Usage history
- Payment records
- Consumable balances
- Edit history
This allows you to seamlessly resume your subscription if you reinstall the app. Images in your SHOPLINE Media Library also remain (these are yours).

Can I use this for non-product images?
The app is optimized for product images but can work with any image you upload to your products. For best results, use clear, well-lit images.
Does the AI learn from my images?
No. Your images are processed by Google Generative AI but are not used to train or improve AI models. Each image is processed independently and not retained by the AI service.
Can I use edited images outside of SHOPLINE?
Yes! Edited images saved to your Media Library are yours to use. You can download them and use them on other platforms, social media, or marketing materials.
